The Equal Rights Amendment: Unfinished Business for the Constitution (Video)

This collection documents Lilialyce Akers’ personal, educational, professional, and activist work. The majority of the collection content pertains to Akers’ work and travel advocating for women’s rights at the state, national and international levels. There is a significant amount of material on the Kentucky Women's Political Caucus, the Kentucky Women's Agenda Coalition, the Equal Rights Amendment, and the UN Commission on Women. Additionally the collection documents Akers’ education in and teaching of social work. The sociology departments at both the University of Louisville and Spaulding University are particularly well represented along with the Urban Studies program at the University of Louisville. Types of materials include correspondence, publications, audio-visual material (photographs, negatives, slides, 16mm film, VHS, and Betamax), clippings, teaching materials, and awards. The collection contains student papers and records which are restricted in accordance with F.E.R.P.A.
